Women's tennis shuts down Conn College, 9-0

NEW LONDON, Conn. --The Skidmore College women's tennis team secured a 9-0 victory against Connecticut College Sunday afternoon in a match played indoors at Luce Field House in New London. The Thoroughbreds improved to 6-1 with their fourth straight win while the Camels even their mark at 1-1 in the setback.

Senior Laura Attley (Chatham, N.J.) earned a 6-4, 6-4 straight set victory at #3 singles for the visitors. Attley paired up with Laura Engros (Bronxville, N.Y.) for an 8-3 win at #2 singles for the Thoroughbreds.

Connecticut College freshman Cassie Smith (Shelburne, Vt.) dropped a competitive 1-6, 7-5, 10-3 decision in a super tie-breaker. Sara Krivoshik (Wilton, Conn.) and Brittney Cangemi (Scituate, Mass.) dropped a close 9-7 decision at #3 doubles. Some singles matches were shortened due to time constraints.
