Potsdam holds off Skidmore 6-5

Potsdam, N.Y.—The Skidmore College ice hockey team lost a wild 6-5 non-league game at SUNY Potsdam, Tuesday night.

 

The Thoroughbreds are 1-2, while the Bears improve to 3-5-0.

 

Down 4-1 in the second, Skidmore battled back to pull within one on goals by Jack Walsh at :54 of the second and Nick Dupuis at :21 of the third.

 

The Bears went back up by two 5-3, but the Thoroughbreds continued the comeback, tying the game 5-5 on goals by Alex Radmin at 9:12 and Brendan Cottam at 9:51.

 

Both teams traded chances over the next few minutes, with Potsdam's Matt Rhymer getting the game-winner at 13:13.   

 

Dupuis finished with two goals and an assist, Tyler Doremus had three assists, and Brad Schuler added two assists for Skidmore.

 

The Thoroughbreds will host Buffalo State on Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Skidmore Invitational.
