Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team earned a 6-3 decision over The College of New Jersey Sunday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds have won four straight to being their spring season and will now travel to California for Spring Break. Skidmore will face Coe College next on March 11.
Sophomore
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, IL) played a tough, hard fought match at number one singles but fell to TCNJ's Jeremy Eckardt 6-3, 1-6 (10-3). Girardin, along with
T.J. David (Bernardsville, NJ), defeated Eckardt and Stewart Fernandez in number one doubles, 8-4.
Yahia Imam (Cairo, Egypt),
Lorenzo Cabrera (Daly City, CA), and
Spencer Cheng (Bainbridge Island, WA) all earned wins for the Thoroughbreds in singles and doubles. Cheng fought back from a 4-6 loss in the first set to sweep Steven Fernandez, 6-2, 10-8 at number four doubles.
