Saratoga Springs, N.Y. -- The Skidmore College men's tennis team won its third-straight match of the spring season as they recorded a 9-0 victory over Vassar College Saturday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds have not lost a set so far this spring as they take their momentum into a match with The College of New Jersey Sunday at 1 p.m.
Sophomore
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, Ill.) earned two wins once again at number one singles and number one doubles, defeating Vassar's Mike Mattelson, 6-4, 6-2 and playing to an 8-6 win with senior
T.J. David (Bernardsville, N.J.) in doubles.
Sophomores
Lorenzo Cabrera (Daly City, Calif.) and
Spencer Cheng (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) tallied victories in number three and four doubles, respectively, and combined for a win at number two doubles, picking up a hard-fought 9-8(3) decision over Mattelson and Peter Ludlow.
