Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team earned its second-straight Liberty League shutout as they downed St. Lawrence University, 9-0, Sunday afternoon.
Skidmore did not lose a set in the match, as they improve to 2-0 in spring season play.
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, Ill.) earned a number one singles victory as he defeated the Saints' Jon Satkowski, 7-6(5), 6-3. Along with T.J. David (Bernardsville, N.J.), he defeated Satkowski and Chris McDonald, 8-5, in number one doubles play.
Freshman Luke Granger (Allendale, N.J.) was victorious over St. Lawrence's Ren Gates in number five singles play, posting a 6-2, 6-2 win. Granger and Yahia Imam (Cairo, Egypt) won at number three doubles also, defeating Chris Rodiloso and Chris Tamm 8-5.
The Thoroughbreds will host Vassar College next on Feb. 28 at 1 p.m.
