Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team won its first match of the spring season Saturday with a 9-0 sweep of Union College.
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, Ill.) earned wins in both number on singles and doubles, posting a win over Union's Alex Katz in two sets, 6-0, 6-0. He also combined with senior T.J. David (Bernardsville, N.J.) for an 8-2 victory over Union's Vic Rayikumar and Dan Nault.
Sophomore
Yahia Imam (Cairo, Egypt) earned victories at number two singles (7-5, 6-1) and number three doubles (8-1) for Skidmore.
David also won at number six singles with a 6-2, 6-4 sweep of Union's Sam Ringel.
The Thoroughbreds host St. Lawrence Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
