Skaters fall to Oswego

Oswego, N.Y.— The Skidmore College hockey team returned to action Friday night against SUNY Oswego in the first round of the Oswego Pathfinder Classic. The host school advanced to the championship game with an 8-2 win.

Skidmore will play Babson College in the consolation game on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Thoroughbreds (4-3) grabbed a 2-0 lead on the Great Lakers (9-5-1) on goals by Hunter Thayer and Sasha Thomas. Oswego responded with four straight goals to lead 4-2 in the second period. Matt Czerkowicz closed it to one 4-3 at 14:28, but the Great Lakers closed out the game with four goals for the win.
