Rochester, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team claimed the Flower City Championship for the second straight year, after defeating SUNY Oneonta, 5-0, Sunday.
The Thoroughbreds start off the season undefeated, as they went 3-0 in the tournament with wins over Rochester and Nazareth.
Sophomore
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, Ill.) had victories in both number one singles and number one doubles, combining with
Yahia Imam (Cairo, Egypt) in a 9-8 win.
Lorenzo Cabrera (Daly City, Calif.) also had two wins, posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Oneonta's Jon Dorin at number three singles, and an 8-4 win in doubles with teammate
Spencer Cheng (Bainbridge Island, Wash.).
Senior
T.J. David (Bernardsville, N.J.) and freshman
Ethan Bond (Beverly Hills, Calif.) won their number three doubles match 8-2.
Skidmore will host Williams College in its home opener on Sept. 17 at 4 p.m.
