Assistant Softball Coaches 2025

Softball program rounds out coaching staff

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Skidmore softball coach Liz Neubinski has rounded out her coaching staff for the 2025-26 year with assistant coaches Alexis Cooke and Steve Frye.

The four-person coaching staff also includes Bob Dean, who was hired earlier in July.

"I'm really excited about the group we have on staff this year," Neubinski said. "Alexis saw a lot of success as a player in the Liberty League and nationally, and she's already made a big impact working with our pitchers. Her energy, knowledge, and approach are a great fit for our program.

"Steve brings a ton of experience and a lot of energy to the field. He's coached just about everything and has a real passion for helping players grow. We're incredibly lucky to have both of them on board, and I'm excited to have them working alongside Coach Bob Dean to form a well-rounded, passionate coaching staff that's fully invested in our program."

A starting pitcher and two-time captain at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Cooke captured the 2023 Liberty League Pitcher of the Year honor, collected eight Pitcher-of-the-Week awards, and earned a place on the 2024 NFCA All-American Watch List.

Cooke completed her M.B.A. in Life Science Entrepreneurship at RPI after graduating with dual B.S. degrees in Biochemistry/Biophysics and Biological Neuroscience. Since 2023 she has provided private and group instruction at Frozen Ropes (Albany, N.Y.), emphasizing mechanical analysis, targeted drills, and advanced pitch development. At Skidmore she will oversee work with the pitching staff.

Frye re-joins Skidmore softball in 2025-26 as a volunteer assistant coach. Over a 31-year scholastic career at Candor (N.Y.) High School, Frye collected 300 total varsity baseball and softball wins including a sectional baseball championship, as well as guided his softball squads to six sectional berths. He earned ESPN Radio 1160 Area Coach-of-the-Year honors in both softball (2018) and bowling (2014). A 2012 inductee into the Binghamton Area STABL Hall of Fame, he has also mentored dozens of future college players with the TC Tremors 18U Gold travel team.
