Note: In anticipation of Skidmore's virtual Commencement ceremony on May 30, there will be a team-by-team salute to senior athletes of the Class of 2020. This is the 11th and 12th of 19 presentations prepared with head coach input. Next up: baseball (May 27) and softball (May 27).

Skidmore College men's and women's crews recognize the class of 2020.

Rowan Schomburg, a coxswain for both the women's and men's varsity crews, Rowan began her career as a rower. Due to chronic knee problems, she converted to the role of coxswain and developed into a loyal, poised and focused leader. She supports her teammates when they struggle and is encouraging and forthright with feedback.  It is for this reason she is the recipient of the Skidmore Rowing Character Award. A double major in English and biology from Princeton, N.J., Rowan's plans for after graduation include "more School" while working with an equine veterinarian.

Hannah Cramer is a studio art major and a chemistry minor with a pre-medical track from Philadelphia, Pa. For the time being, she will work as a medical scribe, with hope of attending medical school.  As a student-athlete, Hannah displays qualities of resilience which will serve her well for the challenges ahead.  A rower by preference, Hannah is an accomplished lightweight single sculler, who valiantly stepped up to the role of coxswain to fill a void in a men's crew.  She also earned a captainship her sophomore year.

Annie James A dependable and enthusiastic athlete despite being plagued by injuries, Annie persisted over her four years without interruption, earned the role of captain, multiple Thoroughbred Society honors, Dean's List and Cum Laude with departmental honors in International Affairs, while also majoring in Spanish. Annie plans on traveling from her home in Rockport, Maine to the US/Mexico border to work with the immigrant refugee and asylum-seeking population.

Stella Solasz an environmental science major From New York, N.Y., was the top athlete on the women's crew during the 2019-2020 season. Stella was selected by the coaching staff as the top boat-mover and Most Valuable Athlete due to her relentless hard work, fitness, and technical skills. Her commitment and positive spirit earned her a captainship her senior year. Stella plans to work as a researcher with Professor Corey Freeman-Gallant and pursue doctoral studies in Ornithology.

Caleb Dimenstein is an economics major and mathematics minor from Worcester, Mass. Caleb remained devoted to his music as a member of Skidmore's Big Band and was a member of SAAC.  His four-year commitment to the crew became particularly apparent at the end of junior year when he dedicated his efforts toward becoming a team-leader for his senior year. That summer Caleb drove himself to become among the top echelon in fall's fitness ladder, setting a high bar for the underclassmen.  Caleb is applying to jobs in the field of data analytics and marketing.

Alex Cadenhead is a psychology major with an American studies minor from New Rochelle, N.Y.
In addition to his four years as a durable rowing athlete, Lex devoted countless hours serving his community through SAAC.  He earned Thoroughbred Society honors and was named to Deans list. His earned the Skidmore Rowing Character Award, which is presented annually to the male and female athletes who display respectfulness, kindness, humility, compassion, accountability, discipline, positivity , and resilience.  After graduation, Lex is going to work as a research assistant and possibly pursue a Masters in social work.
