SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The Skidmore College athletic department welcomed 117 student athletes into the Thoroughbreds Society in a ceremony held Feb. 25 in the Williamson Center.
 
The Thoroughbred Society recognizes student athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.67 or higher the previous semester.
 
This group includes 18 student-athletes who had a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Fall 2018 semester. The women's equestrian team had a 3.54 team GPA, while the men's ice hockey team compiled a 3.45 GPA. The riders had 16 athletes recognized, while hockey had 10.
 
The audience heard from student athletes Max Hegge (ice hockey/crew) and Elizabeth Coughlin (field hockey) who spoke about their Skidmore experiences.
