Ta named to Liberty League Honor Roll

TROY, N.Y. – Senior guard Chase Ta of the Skidmore College men's basketball team earned a spot on the Liberty League Honor Roll for his continued solid play on both ends of the floor, as the league announced its weekly winners on Monday, Feb. 11.
 
Ta continued his strong play last weekend, averaging 16.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game as the Thoroughbreds swept their Western New York foes Hobart and RIT on the road. The senior captain tied his season-high with 19 points, making a career-high five 3-pointers on Friday at Hobart. He ended the weekend with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range against RIT on Saturday.
 
Ta has increased his scoring over the last five games, averaging 15.6 points on 50.8 percent (30-of-59) shooting from the field and 57.7 percent (15-of-26) shooting from beyond the arc. For the season, Ta is tied for the league lead with 4.9 assists per game. He also leads the league in assist/turnover ratio (2.4). He's fourth on the team with 7.4 points per game.
 
Skidmore (15-7, 13-3 Liberty League) moved back into a tie for first place in the Liberty League standings after a 79-71 victory at Hobart and an 81-59 win at RIT. The Thoroughbreds return home for the final two games of the regular season, with a chance to win the regular season title outright this weekend. Skidmore will host Clarkson on Friday at 7 p.m., and finish with co-league leader St. Lawrence at the 'Big Green Scream', Saturday at 4 p.m.
