SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Skidmore College men's basketball first-year standout Jacob Gooden was named the D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year for Region 3 as announced on Monday Morning.
 
Gooden, the Liberty League Rookie of the Year, averaged 19.1 points in his debut season in Saratoga Springs. The four-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week also averaged 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
 
Gooden had 10 games where he scored 20 or more points including a season-high 32 in January at St. Lawrence. He also finished in double figures in scoring in 17 out of his 18 games played. He joins Edvinas Rupkus '19 as the two Thoroughbreds to receive the honor from D3hoops.com.
 
This is the 25th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 29th annual All-America selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
 
Skidmore finished 13-13 in 2025-26 and made it back to the postseason for the first time in three years. Skidmore has won five Liberty League titles and has played in six NCAA tournaments.
