SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's basketball team takes on Stevens to open its home schedule Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds (0-1) look to rebound from Tuesday's 66-56 loss at Hartwick. Stevens (1-0) won its opener 81-75 over New Jersey City University.

The young Skidmore team featured a first-game starting line-up with three sophomores. Hitting double figures were junior Ty Lamport (15 points), senior Pat Gallagher (13 points), and rookie Tautvydas Kupstas (14).

The Ducks are coming off a 16-10 season that ended in the first round of the Empire 8 Tournament. Spencer Cook led Stevens against NJ City with 26 points, including a 12-14 showing from the free throw line.

This will be the first of five straight home games for the defending Liberty League champions, including the league opener and championship game rematch on Dec. 6 against Hobert.
