SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Having already clinched a berth to the Liberty League tournament, the Skidmore College women's lacrosse team wraps up the regular season at RPI on Friday at 7 p.m.

Skidmore (10-5, 6-2 Liberty League) earned the second seed in the upcoming tournament, regardless how things shape out across the conference this weekend. The Thoroughbreds will head to Geneva, N.Y. for a semifinal contest, against an opponent to be named. William Smith will host the tournament this season as the regular season champion.

The offense erupted last weekend for the Thoroughbreds, scoring 38 points in a pair of victories against Vassar and Bard. Skidmore defeated Vassar 19-5 on Friday, then honored its seniors in the home finale, a 19-2 victory on Saturday.

Over the weekend, a few individual records were broken. On Saturday, Rachel Talanian became Skidmore's all-time leader in ground balls. She eventually finished the weekend with a career total of 216, and was named to the league's honor roll on Monday. Talanian currently leads the league in round balls (65), caused turnovers (39), and draw controls (48), and is eyeing a pair of single-season Skidmore records. She's 10 ground balls away from tying the single-season record, set by Annie Ledyard in 2006, and 11 caused turnovers away from tying her own single-season caused turnovers record, which was set last season.

In goal, Megan Kolopsky got the start in both games over the weekend, setting a new program record for most games played in net. The senior has played in 63 career games, and this season, she's among the league leaders in goals against average (8.47) and save percentage (.479).

Offensively, Cas Szwajkowski has had a record-breaking season. The sophomore set Skidmore's single season goals record in the victory against Bard on Sunday. Szwajkowski leads the league in goals (60) and points (67).

Tyler Phillips also had a big weekend for the Thoroughbreds, earning Offensive Performer of the Week honors for the first time this season. The senior scored 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, tallying a career-high seven goals in the victory against Vassar. Phillips, Skidmore's all-time points and goals leader, is currently among the league leaders with 43 points on 31 goals and 12 assists.

RPI comes into the weekend with a 6-8 record and a 4-4 mark in league play. The Engineers are in the thick of the postseason race, with six teams vying for the final two playoff spots. RPI currently sits in fifth place.

Last weekend, the Engineers scored 30 goals in victories against Vassar and Bard to get back into the playoff chase.

Sophie Hager leads the team with 23 goals and eight assists for 31 points. Morgan Doyle (19-2-21) and Allie Claroni (15-5-20) round out RPI's 20-point scorers. Erin Goodwin and Laurel Dean lead the team with 11 caused turnovers each. In goal, Aleena Milinski has started in all 14 games, compiling a 9.46 goals against average and a .485 save percentage.

Last season, Skidmore got the best of RPI at home, winning 11-7 on April 15.
