Thoroughbreds excel at Middlebury

RESULTS

MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—The Skidmore College men's tennis team competed against many of the top players in the nation Sept. 17-18 at the Middlebury College Invitational.
 
All-American Kai Yuen Leung advanced to the A Flight singles championship match. He beat third seed Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury 7-5, 7-6 (3) in the semifinals before losing to former NCAA III number one Noah Farrell of Middlebury 7-5, 6-1.
 
J.T. Wynne advanced to the C Flight final. He knocked off top seed Mitchell Ostrovsky of Brandeis 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the semifinals, but retired due to injury in the championship match.
 
The doubles team of Steven Koulouris and Lucas Pickering beat a team from Trinity 8-5 to move into the A Flight Doubles semifinals. The pair lost 8-3 to a team from Bates.
 
The Thoroughbreds host Union College in a Liberty League match on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
