Box Score 2 SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team won its home opener 1-0 over Union College Friday afternoon at Castle Diamond. The Dutchmen came back to win the second game 12-4.

The Thoroughbreds are 4-6 and 1-1 in Liberty League play, while the Dutchmen are 5-4 and 1-1.

In the first game,
Chris Lorenz opened the bottom of the seventh for the Thoroughbreds with a single.
Mat Marino moved him over with a well placed sacrifice bunt. Lorenz advanced to third on an infield out then scored on
Daniel Dasgupta's walk-off two-out single to left.Â

Peter Delalio got the win with 1 1/3 innings of no hit relief. Starter
Kenny Ajello had his best start of the young season, allowing no runs on two hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked four.

In the second game, Union scored eight unearned runs in the top of the ninth to break open a 4-4 game.

Skidmore tied it with two runs in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single from
Eric Damphousse and a
Steven Gilbert sacrifice fly.

Jeb Clarke went 2-5 and
Josh Brown was 2-3 for the Thoroughbreds. Steve Anderson started, allowing four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and one walk over 7 2/3.

The teams meet again for two on Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
