TROY, N.Y. – Six members of the Skidmore College baseball team earned All-Liberty League honors as announced on Tuesday.
Jack Collins was voted to the First Team as both a pitcher and utility player. He was joined by
Quinn Hocom on the First Team.
Eddie Galvao was voted to the Second Team, while
Holden Caney,
Quinn McDonald, and
Jack Riva all earned Third Team accolades.

Jack Collins (#14, Jr., P, Medfield, Massachusetts) – All-Liberty League First Team (P), All-Liberty League First Team (UTL)
Collins hit .348 (40-for-115) in his first collegiate season as a hitter while pulling double duty as a front-end starter for the Thoroughbreds. On the mound, he went 2-2 with a 2.68 ERA over 43.2 innings and an opponents' batting average of just .220. He's third in the Liberty league in both categories. He posted an on-base percentage of .453 and struck out the least among Skidmore regulars. Collins finished with eight doubles, a triple, and 23 RBI. In five league starts, he had a 2.53 ERA over 32 innings with 21 strikeouts. Collins also played a solid first base, posting a .959 fielding percentage with 65 put outs.

Quinn Hocom (#31, P, Watsonville, California) – All-Liberty League First Team (P)
Hocom broke the Skidmore career and season strikeout records with 77 strikeouts in his senior year. He went 6-0 with a 4.41 ERA over 49 innings pitched for the Thoroughbreds. He currently ranks third in Division III with a 14.14 strikeouts per nine innings metric. Hocom struck out 10 or more in each of his first four starts and five overall. He pitched Skidmore to league wins over Bard, Ithaca, and Vassar, and allowed three earned runs or fewer in six out of his eight starts.

Eddie Galvao (#23, Sr., IF, Yorktown Heights, New York) – All-Liberty League Second Team (3B)
Galvao finished his senior year ranked sixth in the Liberty League in hitting (.394), fourth in slugging (.646), sixth in on-base percentage (.508), and fourth in OPS (1.154). He tallied 39 hits over 27 games, including eight doubles, four triples, and three home runs to share the team lead with 15 extra-base hits. He finished with 21 RBI and went 9-for-10 in stolen-base attempts. Galvao had just three errors playing primarily at third base with 29 assists and a .939 fielding percentage.

Holden Caney (#18, Jr., C, Westport, Connecticut) – All-Liberty League Third Team (C)
Caney hit .337 (29-for-86) in 28 games played for Skidmore as the primary starting catcher. He had four doubles, one triple, and four home runs with 17 RBI on the year. He hit .349 in 14 Liberty League games played with a .491 on-base percentage. Defensively for the year, Caney had a .975 fielding percentage with seven runners thrown out trying to steal and just one passed ball over the course of the year. Â

Quinn McDonald (#1, Jr., IF, Florence, Massachusetts) – All-Liberty League Third Team (2B)
McDonald hit .333 (33-for-99) in his junior year for Skidmore with eight doubles, a triple, two homers, and 22 RBI. He scored 30 runs and posted an on-base percentage of .452. His 1.080 OPS in Liberty League games ranked ninth in the conference, and he was second with eight hit-by-pitches in in those 14 games played. McDonald had a .931 fielding percentage at second base with 36 put pouts and 31 assists.

Jack Riva (#3, So., OF, Fair Haven, New Jersey) – All-Liberty League Third Team (DH)
Riva hit .295 (33-for-112) in his sophomore year for Skidmore with a team high 10 doubles and 15 extra-base hits overall including three home runs. Riva drove in 25 runs and scored 17 times whole posting a .500 slugging percentage. He went 8-for-9 in stolen-base attempts. In 15 Liberty League contests, he produced a team best nine extra-base hits and drove in 13 runs.
