SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College field hockey team hits the road for the first time in Liberty League play, heading to Troy to face Rensselaer on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The 11th-ranked Thoroughbreds come into the weekend after a 1-1 week. On Tuesday, Skidmore fell to Williams, 2-1, but rebounded to defeat Utica on the road 5-0. Seeley Fancher, Caroline Saros, Miranda Davenport, Becca Halter, and Gabby Hyman all scored in the victory. Elizabeth Coughlin made two saves in 66:57 of game action.

Hyman is currently one of the more dangerous offensive weapons in the Liberty League. The sophomore forward is currently tied for the league lead with 15 goals on the season. She has also scored in the team's last three contests, and has tallied a goal in eight of the 10 games in which Skidmore has scored. She was named to the Liberty League Honor Roll on Monday for her hat-trick performance against Union.

Krista Lamoreaux is another dangerous threat for Skidmore. The senior midfielder is third in the conference with seven assists, and is fourth with eight goals and 23 points. Coughlin ranks third in the league with a 0.75 goals against average, and an .811 save percentage.

SCOUTING RENSSELAER (5-4, 0-2 Liberty League)
RPI is a dangerous team despite its 0-2 record in conference play. The Engineers are 4-1 at home, defeating ranked opponents in Mount Holyoke (No. 20) and Montclair State (No. 7).
RPI comes into the matchup after a 4-3 overtime loss to St. Lawrence last Saturday.

Megan Jones and Mikaela DiBello are the offensive threats for the Engineers. Jones has four goals and five assists for 13 points, while DiBello has 12 points on four goals and four assists. Rachel Kaufman has started eight of nine contests in goal, with a 5-3 record, a 1.75 goals against average, and a .714 save percentage.

LAST TIME OUT – Last season, Hyman scored two goals, and Fancher added another, leading to a 6-0 victory over Rensselaer at Wagner Park, on Oct. 10 in the midst of a season-high six-game win streak.
