Box Score 2 FT. MYERS, Fla.—Senior
Matt Barra drilled a two-out two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Skidmore College baseball team to a 5-4 win in the night cap over Plymouth State, Monday in Ft. Myers. The Thoroughbreds won the first game 3-1.
Skidmore (3-1) plays McDaniel College in a doubleheader on March 18.
In the first game,
Kenny Ajello allowed only one run on four hits, five strikeouts and one walk over 5 1/3 innings for his first win of the season.
Daniel Dasgupta earned his second save of the season with a perfect seventh.
Matt Barra was 2-2 with an RBI and Mike Lavita was 1-3 with an RBI double.
In the second game, freshman
Andrew Aikins had a great first start, but didn't get the decision, allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Stephen Gilbert was 2-4 with two runs. In addition to
Matt Barra's double,
Chris Lorenz and
Mike Fogarty each doubled.
