The Thoroughbreds nearly erased a 19-point second-half deficit in its season opener against Ithaca, climbing back within three in the closing minutes, but the Bombers held on for the 90-84 win. Four Skidmore players scored in double figures, led by
Aldin Medunjanin's 21 points. Medunjanin also added five assists and four rebounds.
Royce Paris tallied 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting,
Erik Sanders had 13 points and 11 boards and
Edvinas Rupkus produced 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

SCOUTING CASTLETON
Castleton, which went 14-13 overall last year, returns three of its top four scorers. Senior forward Chad Copeland led the team in points per game (17.0), field goal percentage (51.6%), rebounds per game (8.5) and blocks per game (1.4) in 2014-15. Senior guard Rob Coloutti was second on the team in points per game (14.4) and sophomore guard Pavin Parrish led the team in assists per game (4.4) in his rookie season while finishing fourth in points per game (10.4). The Spartans were picked to finish third in the North Atlantic Conference preseason poll.
