Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Vassar College scored six runs on two hits in the first two innings on the way to a 10-1 Liberty League baseball win over Skidmore, Wednesday afternoon at Castle Diamond.
The Thoroughbreds drop to 5-12 and 0-6 in Liberty League play, while the Brewers jump to 7-5 and 4-2.
Vassar scored two runs in the top of the first when Brooks English drilled a two-out double down the left field line. The Brewers tacked on four more runs in the second on one hit and five walks. Nick Johnson had a two-run single. A well played 4-6-3 double play got Skidmore out of the inning.
The Thoroughbreds scored their lone run in the bottom of the second.
Erik Watkins opened the inning with a single and later scored on a two-out, two-strike single by
Dan Johnstone.
That would be it for the Skidmore offense as the Vassar staff stayed out of trouble for the rest of the game, while the Brewer offense tagged on another four runs for the 10-1 final.

Dan Miller had the other Skidmore hit.
Isaac Forman took the loss, going 1 1/3. The Thoroughbreds used seven pitchers with
Jeff Spindel closing the game with two scoreless innings.
Adam Erkis got the win for Vassar, allowing one run on two hits over six innings with one walk and three strikeouts. Kyle Casey, Nick Johnson, and English each had two hits. Brett Zaziski was 1-1 with four walks and three runs.
Skidmore travels to RIT for four games, starting with a pair on Saturday at 1 p.m.
