TROY, N.Y. – The Skidmore College baseball team lost a pair of low scoring Liberty League games to RPI, 6-3 and 4-1, Tuesday at Robison Field.

The Thoroughbreds drop to 5-11 and 0-5 in league play, while the Engineers improve to 14-6 and 6-4.
In game one, Rensselaer plated three runs in the bottom of the second. RPI starter Jared Jensen kept the Thoroughbreds off the board until the top of the fifth, when senior designated hitter Alex Pavelock drove a single to center, scoring Marco Baratta.
Skidmore pulled even at 3-3 in the top of the sixth, thanks to a single by Jeff Spindel and an RPI error.
The Engineers fought right back scoring three times in the bottom half of the inning to regain the three-run lead (6-3).

Baratta finished 3-4, while Pavelock was 2-4.
Game two saw Tim Gallagher improve to 3-0, allowing one unearned run on five hits in 7.0 innings. He struck out six and walked three.
The Thoroughbreds scored the game's first run in the top of the second, thanks to an RBI-fielder's choice off the bat of freshman catcher Daniel Dasgupta
Rensselaer answered with a run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly from LeSuer. The Engineers then took the lead for good in the fourth, on another two-run double by Annunziata. LeSuer added a two-out single in the sixth to make it 4-1.
Skidmore threatened in the seventh, bringing the tying run to the plate, but Gallagher was able to get Pavelock to fly out to center to end the game.
