Box Score 2 FORT MYERS, FL -- The Skidmore College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Gettysburg College, Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers, FL. The Thoroughbreds (1-3) were downed 5-1 in the first game and 8-3 in the second contest.
In the first game, the Bullets (2-1) plated two runs in the second inning and added two in the fifth fifth to pull away for the 5-1 win. Alex Pavlock went 2-2 and drew a walk and
Andrew Bannon gave up four runs in five innings of work.
Daniel Dasgupta allowed one run in two innings of relief.
In the nightcap, the Thoroughbreds pulled out to a 1-0 on a Pavlock RBI single, but Gettysburg responded in the bottom half of the inning, rattling off five runs.
Steven Gilbert sparked a Skidmore rally in the top of the sixth with a single and
Marco Baratta drove him home on the next at-bat with an RBI triple.
Erik Watkins brought Baratta home with a groundout to cut it to 6-3, but the Bullets added two runs in the bottom of the sixth, hanging on for the 8-3 win.
Skidmore takes on Monmouth College Tuesday, March 11 at 10 a.m.
