Box Score FORT MYERS, FL. -- The Skidmore College baseball team upended Monmouth College, 8-4, Tuesday morning in Fort Myers, FL.

The Thoroughbreds improve to 2-3, while the Fighting Scots move to 2-2.

Erik Watkins got Skidmore on the board in the third inning with a single, plating Mat Marino and Matt Barra doubled the lead in the fourth with an RBI single.
 
The Thoroughbreds blew the game open with a six-run fifth inning. Marco Baratta started the rally with a walk, later advancing to third on an error, and Watkins brought him home with a sacrifice fly to center field. Matt Barra drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Nick Barra and Marino drove in two runs with a two-out double.
 
Kenny Ajello had an impressive debut on the mound for Skidmore, allowing one run and striking out four in five innings of work in his first win.
 
The Thoroughbreds take on Cornell College Wednesday, March 12 at 10 a.m.
