Box Score 2 POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—Skidmore's
Nick Petrella tossed a complete game shutout in a 6-0 in game one win over Vassar in a Liberty League doubleheader Sunday. The Brewers came back to win game two, 2-1.
With eight league games left, the Thoroughbreds are 11-16 overall and 7-11 in league play. Vassar is 11-16 and 7-11.
In the first game, Petrella improved to 5-1 with the team's third straight complete game shutout. He allowed six hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
Marco Baratta was 2-4 with an RBI double and
Jeff Spindel was 1-3 with two runs and an RBI. Matt Tatkow went 1-2 with a run and two RBI.
Skidmore continued to get strong pitching in the second game, but the Thoroughbreds stranded 10 runners in the 2-1 loss. Issac Forman pitched seven strong innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, with no walks and four strike outs.
Matty Tatkow went 2-3 with a run and a stolen base.
Skidmore travels to Plattsburgh for a non-league game on Tuesday.
