Fetterolf would score yet another goal with 1:46 remaining in the half, but Skidmore wasn't finished as
Tess Mattimore sprinted from behind the cage and found nylon with seven seconds left on the clock to cap the Skidmore run.
As the horn sounded, the Thoroughbreds held a 6-4 advantage.
As it did in the first half, Rochester got off to a fast start in the second stanza, scoring two quick goals to tie the score at 6-6, but Skidmore answered the same way it had in the first half by scoring five unanswered goals of its own to push its lead to 11-6.
Caroline Bowne began the run with a free position goal before Fetterolf and Melville took command, each scoring twice to give Skidmore some additional breathing room.
Rochester looked to make a move at 4:51 as Elisabeth Watson beat Skidmore goalie
Shelby Witheford, but an
Emma Harris goal at 4:13 dashed any hopes of a Rochester comeback as the Thoroughbreds earned a 12-7 victory.
Witheford gets her third win of the season after making six big saves in net, while Traina takes the loss and made 11 saves.
