Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Skidmore College baseball team scored the game's final eight runs for a 9-7 win in the second game of a Liberty League doubleheader against Clarkson University, Friday at Castle Diamond.  The Golden Knights won the first game 9-3.

The Thoroughbreds are 4-6 overall and 1-1 in league play, while Clarkson is an identical 4-6 and 1-1. The teams will play another pair Saturday at 12 p.m.

In the first game, the Golden Knights took advantage of two Skidmore errors to score eight runs on five hits in the third inning.  David Wixted and Greg Jasek each had two-run doubles in the inning for Clarkson.

Bryan Chudy picked-up the win, allowing two runs on three hits, with four walks and nine strikeouts. Wixted finished 3-4.
For Skidmore, Marco Baratta had an RIB single and Leejay Pollacchi had an RBI double.

In the second game, Clarkson opened a 7-1 lead before falling apart in the late innings. Skidmore scored scratched out single runs in the fifth and sixth, before scoring three in the seventh and three in the eighth for the 9-7 win.

Pollacchi went 3-4 with a run and two RBI, including an RBI double in the seventh. Chris Lorenz was 2-5 with four RBI, driving in two with a single in the seventh and another pair with a clutch single in the eighth. Alex Barber, Geoff Green, and Jeff Spindel had two hits each.

Nick Petrella earned the win with 1.2 innings of shutout work.

Wixted had another solid game for Clarkson, going 4-5 with two runs. John Coleman was 2-5 with two RBI and Dave Lenney went 2-4 with an RBI. Jim Coleman took the loss, getting tagged for three runs in the eighth.
