Skidmore falls in championship game

Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.— Babson College won its own tournament with a 78-60 win over Skidmore College, Saturday afternoon at Staake Gymnasium.

With the victory, Babson is now 2-0 on the year while Skidmore drops to 1-1.

Thoroughbreds' sophomore Erik Sanders (New York, N.Y.) had 22 points and nine rebounds while sophomores Aldin Medunjanin (New York, N.Y.) and Tanner Brooks (Pikesville, Md.) notched 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Sanders made the all-tournament team for Skidmore.

Joey Flannery scored a team-high 22 points while juniors Eric Dean (Gilford, N.H.) and John Wickey (Manchester, N.H.) each chipped in with 16 for the Beavers.

"You have to give credit to Babson, I thought they played a great game," said Skidmore coach Joe Burke.  "We had a heck of a battle late last night with RIC and I didn't think we were able to come back and match there physicality this afternoon.

"The overall tournament was great for us. We played two great teams away from home and I think we will be better from it going forward."

Both teams return to action on Tuesday night as Babson travels to Lasell for a 7 p.m. game, while Skidmore will be at Castleton State, also at 7 p.m.
