Aldin Medunjanin had the first triple-double in Skidmore Liberty League competition to lead the Thoroughbreds to a 65-48 league win over Bard College, Saturday.
The Thoroughbreds are 5-2 in league play and 11-5 overall. The Raptors are 1-6 and 4-10.
It was the second triple/double in Skidmore varsity history and the first since Kevin Yarter did it in 1981 against SUNY New Paltz. Medunjanin had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He was one of five Skidmore players who finished in double-figure scoring, as the Thoroughbreds shot a scalding 61 percent from the field in the second half.
When Bard freshman Pat Lichtenstein (Ocean, NJ) hit a three-pointer with 15:45 to go in the game, the Raptors (4-10, 1-6 Liberty) had trimmed a 10-point halftime deficit to just four, 34-30. But Skidmore scored 11 of the next 14 points and never looked back. Medunjanin had two points, two assists and a rebound during that key stretch.
Skidmore's
Kevin Dahill finished with 17 points;
Connor Merrill added 14,
Sakhile Sithole had 11, and
Tanner Brooks chipped in with 10. The Thoroughbreds next host Clarkson on Tuesday night at 8.
