Box Score Plattsburgh, N.Y.—A pair of late second-half goals carried the Skidmore College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Lyndon State at the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic.
The Thoroughbreds play Johnson State at 5 p.m. on Saturday in a predetermined pairing. Plattsburgh beat Johnson 10-0 on Friday.
Despite a healthy shot advantage, Lyndon was able to hold Skidmore off until 72 minute mark when
Brock Bakewell found the back of the net from Aaron Krepeck for a 1-0 lead. With just under three minutes to go,
Aldin Medunjanin buried a pass from
Joey Colvin to secure the win for Skidmore.
The Thoroughbreds (1-0-0) outshot the Hornets, 20-4. Lyndon State's Jason Gray stopped seven shots in the loss while Skidmore's
Eli Kisselbach needed just one save for the win.
