Playoff bound Thoroughbreds split with Union

Schenectady, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team spit a pair of Liberty League road games against Union College on Saturday, winning the first 10-1 and losing the second 9-3.

The Thoroughbreds are 25-13 overall and 16-10 in Liberty League play. The Dutchmen are 17-21 and 11-15.
In the first game, Max Martins tossed a complete game three-hitter, with two walks and six strikeouts. Matty Tatkow was 3-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI and Erik Watkins went 3-4 with a double, two runs and three RBI.   Leejay Pollacchi was 2-3 with two runs and two RBI and Jesse Frehling went 2-3 with a pair of runs.

In the second game, the Thoroughbreds scored all of their runs in the first inning, while the Dutchmen scored in every inning, but the second.

Nick Barra was 2-4 with a two-run double. Watkins and Brian Lowry had two hits each.  Isaac Forman took the loss.

Skidmore will close out the regular season at home Sunday with another doubleheader against Union, starting at 12 p.m.
