Canton, N.Y.— The Skidmore College baseball team took advantage of outstanding pitching from Jordan Keysor and Andrew Bannon on the way to a 5-3 win over Rochester in a Liberty League elimination game.

The Thoroughbreds (27-15) will face St. Lawrence or RPI in a second elimination game now scheduled for 12 p.m. Saturday. Rochester (18-25) has lost all five games against Skidmore this season.

Keysor (6-4) tossed the first seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits, three walks, and three strikeouts. Bannon had two shutout innings for his fifth save, allowing one hit on a walk and two strikeouts.

Skidmore scored grabbed a 2-0 lead with two runs on only one it in the second, taking advantage of a hit batter and an error. The teams traded runs in the fourth, with the Thoroughbreds getting a run on a bases loaded single by Brian Lowry.

Skidmore tallied two more in the sixth for a 5-1 lead, with another RBI single by Lowry and a sac fly from Erik Watkins.

The Yellowjackets plated two in the eighth, but Bannon shut the door in relief.
Leejay Pollacci was 3-4 and Lowry and Geoff Green had two hits each for the Thoroughbreds.
