Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Plattsburgh scored four runs on six singles in the eighth inning on the way to a 6-4 non-league baseball win over Skidmore College, Tuesday at David Alexander Castle Diamond.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 23-9, while the Cardinals improve to 19-15. Skidmore will host Rensselaer in a Liberty League doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m.
 
Skidmore scored a pair of runs in the third for an early 2-0 lead on an RBI double by Leejay Pollacchi who scored on a Zack Rudman RBI single.
 
Plattsburgh got on the board in the fifth when Pedro Gonzalez doubled and then scored on a double by Damian Tyler to make it 2-1.
 
The Cardinals tied it 2-2 in the sixth when Chris Pescetti opened the inning with a single, advanced to third on a Mike Mulvihill double and then scored on a fielder's choice.
 
In the sixth, Matty Tatkow tripled to score Nick Barra for a 3-2 Skidmore lead.
 
Plattsburgh then sent 10 batters to the plate in the eighth, scoring four runs on six singles and a hit batter. Casey Brighton had a two-run single to key the rally and a 6-3 Cardinal lead.
 
The Thoroughbreds got one back in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single from Geoff Green, for the 6-4 final. 
 
Green was 2-5, while Tattkow finished 2-3.
 
Kris Cauchon (2-4), Pescetti (2-5) and Gonzalez (2-4) had two hits each for the Cardinals.
 
Skidmore used six pitchers. Issac Forman threw three shutout innings to open the game. Max Martins and Jeff Spindel each had an inning of scoreless relief.  Jordan Keysor (4-4) took the loss.
 
Plattsburgh's Kyle Kelly (4-2) earned the win, allowing three runs on five hits through seven innings.  Steven Corea picked-up his fourth save, working his way out of a bases loaded situation in the eighth.
