Men's tennis takes on #1 Amherst

Amherst, Mass. - The 22nd-ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team fell to #1 Amherst, 7-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds fall to 7-5, while the Lord Jeffs improve to 23-2.

Miles Ransom and Danny Knight were three-set winners for Skidmore at #3 and #5 singles, respectively.  Ransom defeated Wes Waterman 6-3, 1-6, 10-8, while Knight was a 6-4, 2-6, 12-10 winner over Justin Reindel.  Sophomore Oliver Loutsenko battled at #1 singles with Luis Rattenhuber before falling in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 5-10.

In doubles action, Jimmy Sherpa and Alec Hoblitzell fell 8-6 at #1 doubles, while the #2 team of Loutsenko and Knight lost by the same score.

Skidmore hosts Liberty League foe Hobart on Sunday at 1 p.m.
