Rochester, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College baseball team beat RIT 6-2 to salvage a split and a 3-1 series win, Sunday afternoon in Rochester. The Tigers won the first game 6-5.
Skidmore remains tied for second with a 10-6 Liberty League and 118-8 overall record. The Tigers are 5-11 and 10-16.
In the first game, RIT jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on for the one-run win.
Alex Barber was 2-4 with a pair of RBI. The Thoroughbreds struggled with the RIT staff that allowed five runs on six hits.
Skidmore battled back in the second game to salvage the split and win the series with a 6-2 win.
Max Martins was tough on the mound, allowing just two runs on seven hits and seven strikeouts in eight innings.
Nick Barra was 3-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI.
Erik Watkins added a pair of hits and three RBI.
