Rochester, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team moved into second place with a 17-7, 16-9 Liberty League sweep at the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday.

The teams will play again Sunday starting at 12 p.m.

The Thoroughbreds are 9-5 in league play and 17-7 overall. The Tigers are 4-10 and 9-16.

In the first game, Skidmore scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back, scoring 17 runs on 21 hits. Alex Barber went 4-6 with three RBI. Freshman Nick Barra went 3-5 with two runs and two RBI.  Geoff Green also pounded out three hits, going 3-4 with four runs and three RBI.
 
The second game was more of the same, with the Thoroughbreds scoring 16 runs on 17 hits.  Barra continued his hot play, going 3-4 with four RBI to finish the day 6-11.  Leejay Pollacchi went 3-4 with two runs and two SB and Zack Rudman was 3-4 with four runs and a double.
