Isaac Forman continued to dominate the opposition, throwing a complete-game seven inning 2-0 shutout to lead the Skidmore College baseball team to a 2-0 win and Liberty League split with Vassar College, Saturday. The Brewers came from behind to win the first 4-3 in nine innings.
Skidmore (11-3, 5-1 Liberty) and Vassar (4-9, 2-4) will play another pair at Skidmore on Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.
In the first game, the Brewers score a run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and then won it in the ninth with a walk, bunt, and RBI single. Neither team had an extra base hit.
Erik Watkins and
Matty Tatkow had RBI singles for the Thoroughbreds.
Zack Rudman pitched the first six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, with one walk, and one strkeout.
Andrew Bannon took the loss in relief.
In the second game, Forman (4-0) allowed no runs on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. He has not allowed an earned run in 23.1 innings. Skidmore scored a run in the third when
Jeremy Selecky singled and later scored on a two-out single by
Geoff Green. The second run came the same way in the sixth, when
Leejay Pollacchi singled and later scored on a two-out single by
Zack Rudman.
