Schenectady, N.Y. - The Skidmore College men's tennis team opened its spring season with a convincing 9-0 win over local rival Union on Saturday afternoon.
Jimmy Sherpa and
Alec Hoblitzell picked up a 8-0 win at number one doubles, while
Oliver Loutsenko and
Luke Granger earned an 8-2 win at number two and
Max Bevan and
Danny Knight won 8-0 at number three.
In singles action, Loutsenko won 6-2, 6-2 at the numer one spot and Sherpa won 6-1, 6-0 at number two. In number three singles, Granger picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win, while
Miles Ransom was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number four singles. Knight and
Gabe Steerman were 6-0, 6-0 winners at number five and number six singles, respectively.
The Thoroughbreds return to action on Feb. 26 at Vassar.
