Strong second half carries Stevens past Skidmore

Box Score Owings Mills, Md.—Stevens University came from behind in the second half for a 90-79 non-league win over Skidmore College, Saturday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds (6-3) led by four at the half, 48-44, but Stevenson (6-4) shot 70 percent from the floor in the second half, hitting 16 of 23 attempts on the way to the 11-point win.

Freshman Aldin Medunjanin was the lone Skidmore starter in double figures with 23 points to go along with eight assists.  He went 6-for-9 from three point range. Brian Moore had a career high 20 points off the bench. Eli Johnston had nine rebounds and eight points.

Stevenson scored 36 points off 27 Skidmore turnovers.

"You have to credit Stevenson," said "I thought they took us out of what we wanted to do offensively and they took advantage of us being a little short handed.

"Regardless of that, and no matter who is on the floor for this program there has to be a better commitment on the defensive end. We won two championships in a row because we built around our defense.  We will use this week to remind ourselves of that and also try and get healthy for conference play."

The Thoroughbreds open Liberty League play at home Friday against Bard College at 8 p.m.
