Box Score   Middlebury, Vt. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team fell 2-1 in double overtime to 17th-ranked Middlebury, Tuesday afternoon at Dragone Field.

The Thoroughbreds fall to 3-8-1, while the Panthers improve to 10-1-1.

Scarlett Kirk scored the game-winner 102:30 into the contest, launching a ball into the top right side of the net from 25 yards out. The goal was her team-leading sixth of the season and the 27^th of her career. The Panthers held a 19-6 shots advantage in the game, with nine of their shots going on goal.

Middlebury opened the scoring just 2:10 into the contest when Kirk chipped a shot over the head of Skidmore goalkeeper Gab Lawrence from 10 yards out.

Skidmore had a great chance to tie in the 22^nd minute, but Panther keeper Elizabeth Foody denied Kelsey Yam by deflecting her shot up and over the crossbar. On the ensuing corner kick, Michelle Finan served the ball to Yam, whose header went off the hands of Foody and just under the crossbar to tie the game at 1-1.

Middlebury turned up the pressure in the 50^th minute, when Claire Nishioka was denied by a diving save from Lawrence after a nice cross from Lucy Wagner. Minutes later, Rachel Madding nearly found the back of the net after a feed from Molly Parizeau.

Neither team would threaten for the remainder of the game, forcing the contest into overtime. Foody finished with four saves to earn the win, while Lawrence made seven stops for the Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore hosts Clarkson this Saturday at 2 p.m.
