SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – For the third time in the past four seasons, the Skidmore College women's soccer team will host a first round playoff game of the Liberty League Tournament at Wachenheim Field. This go around, the Thoroughbreds look to avenge last season's semifinal round defeat by hosting the defending champion Ithaca Bombers.

ABOUT SKIDMORE
The Thoroughbreds finished the regular season with a 7-5-4 overall record alongside a 4-3-2 mark in conference play, which was enough to win a three-way tiebreak over Ithaca and Union to clinch the fourth seed. Skidmore's offense is led by juniors
Abby Lewis, who has scored a team-high and second-most in the conference of nine goals, and
Ellianna Caporusso, who leads the team and is top-three in the conference with five assists. Defensively, the Thoroughbreds have posted four shutouts on the season. Skidmore is currently ranked No. 106 in the NCAA NPI Rankings.
ABOUT ITHACA
The defending champion Bombers wrapped up the regular season with a 7-5-4 overall record and finished strong with three-consecutive wins to clinch a 4-3-2 conference record alongside a postseason berth. Ithaca's identity has been on the defensive side of the ball, where the Bombers have registered nine shutouts on the season and allowed just seven goals. Offensively, Ithaca has three players tied for the team season-high in goals scored with two apiece. Ithaca is currently ranked No. 110 in the NCAA NPI Rankings.
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
The Bombers hold the all-time head-to-head series lead with a 21-3-7 record. The two programs meet for the second consecutive year in the conference tournament, with Ithaca coming out on top, 2-0, in the 2024 Liberty League semifinals. The two teams also battled to a 1-1 tie at Wachenheim Field during this year's regular season matchup exactly one month earlier.
