Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Glens Falls native and 10-year major league veteran David Palmer stopped by the Skidmore College Baseball Camp Wednesday, signing autographs and exchanging advice and stories with the more than 50 campers.
Palmer pitched for the Montreal Expos, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, and Detroit Tigers. He's best remembered for his five-inning perfect game (rain shortened) for the Expos against St. Louis. He was the 1986 Atlanta Braves Pitcher of the Year.
Palmer resides in Georgia where he recently completed his seventh year as the pitching coach for Georgia State Champion, Parkview High School.
He was inducted into the Glens Falls High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 and the Glens Falls Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004.
