Nick Laracuente remained unbeaten on the mound, tying the Skidmore career win record in the process to lead the Thoroughbreds to a 7-0, 7-2 road sweep of St. Joseph's College on Saturday.
Skidmore improves to 13-5 with the sweep. St. Joseph's is 12-13.
In the first game, Laracuente improved to 5-0 on the mound with his second shutout of the season. The win was the 20th of his collegiate career, tying the program record set last season by
Spencer Marcus. The two shutouts ties the season shutout record. The dominating senior allowed only four hits, with three walks and three strikeouts. He lowered his era to 0.49.
On the offensive side, Leejay Pollachi was 2-4 with two runs and
Rob Rubenstein was 1-3 with two RBI.
Zach Brown was 2-4 with an RBI.
In the second game, Rubenstein and
Mike Pannozzi had two RBI each for the Thoroughbreds.
Trevor Brucato improved to 2-1 on the mound, allowing two runs in 5 2/3 on seven hits, four walks, and six strikeouts.
