Skidmore controlled the game early, hitting its first seven shots to grab a quick 19-4 lead. The Thoroughbreds led by as many as 29 in the first half on the way to a 46-19 lead at the break. Skidmore hit 10 of 17 threes (58.8%) in the half, while the Saints struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on only one of eight.

Senior guard Jeff Altimar (Medford, Mass./Medfield) scored 13 first-half points on his way to a team-high 19 points, going 5-9 from three-point range. "I want to give credit to the players, I challenged them all week and they responded" Skidmore coach Joe Burke said.  "We did not hide behind the importance of this game. We have big visions for this program and we talked about stepping up an playing well in a big spot and we did that tonight."

"Although we shot the ball extremely well in the first half, I thought our defense was the difference.  St Lawrence is a great team and extremely well coached, we knew they would come out fighting in the second half and they certainly did that."

"We are thrilled to be playing in the playoffs next week but we need to keep the momentum going and play well tomorrow against a very talented Clarkson team."

Skidmore will close out the regular season at home Saturday against Clarkson University at 4 p.m. The game is part of the BIG GREEN SCREAM. St. Lawrence is at Union College at 4 p.m.
