Saratoga Springs, N.Y.--  The Skidmore College baseball team exploded for 11 runs on 15 hits to beat St. Lawrence 11-5 and earn a split in Liberty League baseball Sunday afternoon at Castle Diamond.  The Saints won the first game 5-4.

Skidmore is 10-11 overall and 2-6 in Liberty League play, while St. Lawrence is 7-13 and 3-9.

The Saints, the home team for both games, won the first game in the bottom of the seventh when Jason Conde scored from second when Ryan Duff's two-out infield fly dropped-in just past first base.  Duff was 2-4 and Garrett Fitzgerald was 2-3 with a pair of RBI singles.  Zack Slater got the win in relief.  Sean Voss started and gave up four runs (two earned) in six innings.

For the Thoroughbreds, Justin Morelli was 2-3 and Mike Jaffe was 1-3 with two runs and an RBI.

In the second game, Skidmore took an 11-0 lead before St. Lawrence scored five unearned runs in the sixth.  Morelli continued his hot hitting, going 3-5 with a pair of RBI.  Rob Rubenstein was 3-4 with two RBI,  Brian Lowry went 3-5 with two runs and an RBI, and Matt Pisani was 2-4 with an RBI double and sacrifice fly. Trevor Brucato earned his first win of the season, going 5.2 innings, allowing five unearned runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts.  James Bradley and Tom Gruber combined for 3.1 innings of shutout pitching to close out the game.

Tim Harris went 3-5 with an RBI for St. Lawrence.

Skidmore is at Union on April 10.
