Orlando, Fla. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team earned another victory Wednesday as they posted a 7-2 decision over Coe College in a match played in Orlando, Fla.
The win moves the Thoroughbreds to a steady 6-0 in spring season play. Skidmore will face Vincennes University Thursday at 1 p.m. in its next match.
Skidmore sophomores
Lorenzo Cabrera (Daly City, CA) and
Spencer Cheng (Bainbridge Island, WA) combined for an important win at number two doubles, posting an 8-4 win over Coe's Scott Stegemann and Ryan King. Cabrera picked up another victory at number three singles, while Cheng earned a win in number four singles play.
Sophomore
Yahia Imam (Cairo, Egypt) tallied two wins on the day as well, taking Coe's Joey Lankelma, 6-3, 6-3, in number two singles and combining with freshman
Luke Granger (Allendale, NJ) for a hard fought 9-8 (2) win over Lankelma and Greg Janssen in number three singles.
Sophomore
Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, IL) played well and won 6-0, 6-2 over Ryan King at number one singles.
