Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Skidmore College softball team dropped a doubleheader to Finlandia University, 6-5, 9-1, on March 8 in Cocoa Beach, Fl.
Finlandia just squeaked by the Thoroughbreds in game one as they put a run across the board late in the game to take the 6-5 decision. Freshman Sam Crose (Assonet, MA) had a triple and a run scored in the loss, while fellow rookie Lauren Tobias (New City, NY) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
Freshman Lauren Bernstein (White Plains, NY) also put a run across the plate for Skidmore in the first game while adding an RBI and a stolen base.
In game two, junior Michelle Anderson (Alfred, NY) and sophomore Charlotte Evans (Pawling, NY) each went 1 for 3, with Anderson providing the lone RBI for Skidmore.
The Thoroughbreds will face Penn-State Beaver next in Cocoa Beach on March 11.
