Saratoga Springs, N.Y.— Skidmore's bench accounted for 70 points in a 105-54 men's basketball win over Paul Smith College Tuesday at the Sports and Recreation Center.
The Thoroughbreds enter the winter break with three straight wins and a 5-3 record. The Bobcats fall to 1-8.
Skidmore opened the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back, extending the lead to 50-27 at the half.
It was more of the same in the second half, with the Thoroughbreds outscoring the Bobcats 31-13 over the first eight minutes for an 81-40 advantage.
Five Skidmore players were in double figures, with every player dressed getting into the point column. Freshman
Melvis Langyintuo (Tamale, Ghana) scored 11 points off the bench to lead the Thoroughbreds. Freshmen
Terron Victoria (Albany, N.Y./Bishop Maginn) and
Gerard O'Shea (West Sand Lake, N.Y./Averill Park) each scored 10 points and had four assists. Freshmen
Kyle Clark (New York, N.Y.) and
John Mantas (Niskayuna, N.Y./CBA) each scored10 points off the bench with Clark contributing five blocks, three assists, and two steals.
Senior
Sam Cohen-Devries (New York, N.Y.) pulled-down a team-high 10 rebounds and had five assists and four steals.
Paul Smith's got 13 points from Tim Riel (Epsom, N.H.) and 11 points and seven rebounds from Evan Crisafulli (Albany, N.Y.).
The Thoroughbreds had a 57-39 rebound advantage and scored 22 points off offensive rebounds.
Skidmore is off until Jan. 2 when the Thoroughbreds face Connecticut College in the first round of the Washington and Lee Invitational Tournament.
