SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The No. 15 Skidmore College men's lacrosse team closed out non-conference play with a 15-9 victory over SUNY Oneonta at Wachenheim Field on Monday afternoon.

Michael Aiello, the Thoroughbreds (9-2) came alive offensively with 11 goals across the middle two quarters to overcome a strong first-quarter start from the Red Dragons (5-6).
For the game, Skidmore outshot Oneonta 51-27 and held an 18-10 edge on faceoffs, while limiting the visitors to just 20-of-29 on clear attempts to win the possession battle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oneonta struck first out of the gates, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter before freshman Joseph Killcommons got Skidmore on the board off an assist from Aiello at the 7:04 mark.
- The Dragons closed out the opening quarter by scoring two of the final three goals to take a 4-2 lead into the second period. Skidmore's other goal came off the stick of senior David Koffler on a feed from Aiello.
- In the second period, the Thoroughbreds came alive offensively with three consecutive goals from Killcommons, Geier, and Weiner to erase the deficit and take a 5-4 lead with 8:31 on the clock.
- After Oneonta's lone goal of the period, Skidmore rattled off three more unanswered goals to take an 8-5 lead into halftime. Geier scored in solo fashion, followed by a pair of goals from senior Caleb Lawson.
- To open the third quarter, Skidmore extended its run to five straight as Weiner scored back-to-back assisted goals off passes from Finkel and Aiello to push the Thoroughbreds' lead to 10-5 with 7:26 remaining.
- The Thoroughbreds closed out the quarter with three more goals to take a commanding 13-7 lead into the final frame. Koffler and senior Marty McFadden scored 10 seconds apart at the 3:53 mark, before Geier found the back of the net with 38 seconds remaining.
- In the fourth, sophomores Luke Handy and Miles Kim each scored for Skidmore to help clinch the nonconference victory at home.
